So I had just moved all of the cats to their new home. Two of which, Jazzy & Violet, who were in quarantine awaiting spaying, had just recently made a jail break through a small hole in the basement foundation and were now probably pregnant. So what happens when we go into a pet store to get mealworms for Ned’s school project? Amy buys a kitten, of course. 15 cats, two broods on the way and she buys a kitten!?! Well I knew I’d found the woman for me!

The two litters of kittens did come a month or so later and Papillon was the perfect brother to show the babies the ropes. He cared for them and slept with them every night (and day). He is such a sweetheart that he even loves dogs, in fact he is very much like a dog himself.

Amy, the resident Francophile and master linguist named him Papillon for the butterfly-shaped markings on this neck & back. Papillon was the first cat we got as a family. Ned & Lucie picked him from a litter of three and they were very deliberate in doing so. He is a very special boy and means a lot to us all, especially the kids.
