aka: Mumbai, Blue Boy, Moon Pie

Bombay was named for his exotic bluish coat, which suggests the blue of the Bombay Sapphire Gin Bottle. (Recently he abandoned his Colonial name, Bombay, preferring his native one, Mumbai. The kids weren't sure of the pronunciation and now call him Moon Pie) The wonderful marbled blues of his coat are mixed with rose pinks on his belly. He has an almost human face and sweet contemplative eyes. He must have experienced some kind of trauma in his youth, as his back legs don’t work quite right. They wrap around each other as he walks (especially runs) as if his hips had been broken and healed poorly. He wakes up several minutes before his rear, causing him to pull himself along with twisted legs until he can stand up. Not a confident jumper, he makes sure to have his claws deep in your leg before he tries to pull himself up into your lap—so precious. For such a big boy, he has the silliest, short little squeak of a meow that is rarely uttered. He is one of the few that actually cleans & cares for the other cats.

FAVORITE SLEEPING PLACE: On his favorite chair or between my legs, completely facedown.
